Global Handwashing Day

On Global Handwashing Day 2024, which fell on 15th October 2024, the Chikko Foundation marked the celebration of the Day with two events, one with a school and the other a health facility in the La Nkwantanang area of Greater Accra, Madina.
The first was with the Seventh Day Adventist Basic Schools Madina, where the foundation organised a seminar for over one thousand students on the theme “Why are clean hands still important?”
In addition, the foundation distributed 300 pieces of pocket size handwashing liquid soap, 300 copies of faith-based literature, and Chikko Foundation branded exercise books to the students and also provided refreshment.
The second event was held at the Madina Polyclinic, where a seminar on the theme “why clean hands still important” was organised for personnel of the facility, including nurses, doctors, and administrative staff. The foundation distributed 100 pieces of pocket-sized handwashing soap to staff and patients and gallons of liquid soap for the facility and faith-based literature as well.
